About

I use materials as ‘fragments’ to explore themes of permanence, change, disposability and belonging. Materials are often recycled in my work – an old drawing or abandoned object – intuitively arranged to offer traces of narrative. My recent work conveys human vulnerability through barriers, gaps, cracks and vulnerably arranged objects. I am interested – most significantly – in the tension between materials, and where the relationship between them intersects and perhaps breaks down.

As a former graphic designer, my work also explores text as a compositional device, and language associated with faith.

Although my work is interdisciplinary, collage forms the basis of my practice, and informs the work's development into sculpture and installation.
