About

I am a multidisciplinary artist whose work ranges from painting, assemblage to installation and screenprint.

I create richly layered, colorful compositions that are both representational and abstract.

As a painter, I’m interested in the formal properties of painting, and exploring the canvas beyond the traditional rectangular, one dimensional frame. My recent process involves working with more organic oval shaped forms; using opposing techniques of cutting into the canvas to make reductive ‘void’ spaces, and adding multiple layers of folded canvas that create textured ‘sculptural’ effects, and question the boundary between 2D and 3D form.

The artists that most inspire my practice are Manzoni, Rauschenberg and textile artists like Caroline Achaintre.

Originally from Northern Ireland, I have lived in Portland, OR for 7 years, and am a mother of two.
